I like talking about the Great Wall of China. I know that the Great Wall of China is over 4,000 miles long.
ReplyDeleteI learned that the great wall of china was to protect the south from the north it was more than 3700 miles long it is so big you could see it from outer space!it was resembled as a death or injury as people died of starvation and disiese they were fed just enough to survive it was not safe the walls caved in and killed some people some of these people included peasants captured enemys and slaves it also included scolars and anybody else who would tick off him. I think it is unfair and I would have changed something but I was not there but still I think it definitly deserves its spot as a wonder of the world.
ReplyDeleteIt's truly amazing, over 6,000 life size solders , underground , highly detailed , and to top it off , there all painted . And to think someone found them in their back yard.
ReplyDeletethis is a great website, the thing i learned about this is that in the ming dynasty there was a forbidden city. that forbidden city might not even by in my textbook!
ReplyDeleteDid you know that the Chinese built a forbidden city!?! The construction of the forbidden city began in the year 1406 CE. It took about one million workers and 14 years to build hundreds of perfect and beautiful buildings. The forbidden city was the place of government for the Ming dynasty. Today it is a museum. There were 800 buildings that have a total of about 9,000 rooms. Can you imagine having to find your way to a certain room on your first day! The Forbidden City is the world's largest palace complex and millions of people visit the city each year.
ReplyDeletei learned that the Chinese worked on the great wall of china for over 1700 years. i also learned that each emperor that ruled china would add another piece to the great wall of china.i thought that it was interesting that the great wall of china was not a solid wall but a line of disconnected barricades.
ReplyDeleteI learned about the forrbidden city. They said it took up to 1 million workers to build. It was actully built in 1409 C.E. It is now a muesuem in china and has hundreds of rooms and buildings. I think the forrbidden city is fantasticly amazing.

ReplyDeleteI learned that the Chinese had many methods they used clay and pottery wheel to make bricks and pots for decoration and the bricks for buildings.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great site! I learned that the ancient Chinese used chopsticks before forks and knifes (other when they were used for hunting) were invented. Also when they were invented, the Chinese consider them bearing a sort of violence, unlike chopsticks which they think reflect gentleness and benevolence. I think this Chinese custom is different, and more hard(at least for me!) But is very neat because we are so used to forks and knifes.
ReplyDeleteLearning about China was very interesting. I learned that China has two water borders the Yellow sea and the China Sea. The Chinese all belived that there were no other civilizations. Except some people to the north of China. I also learned about the terracata soilders. In 1974 archaeologists discoverd over 6000 clay soilders. These soileders were called terracatta. They were all different. Some had facial hair, some were kneeling at gun point and there were even some horses. Learning about ancint China was very interesting.
ReplyDeleteWOW i learned so much about ancient china !!! Like that in 1974 somewhere in china someone dug out a whole army of Terracotta soldiers in their own backyard! and their were about 6000 life size soldiers! Also that in China to make the great wall of china it took 1700 years! And also i read on that web site that in china they believe that if their chopsticks are uneven that means you have bad luck! ReplyDeletethe man looks like he is wealthy from his belt because it has jewlery in

ReplyDeletei learned that the great wall of china was worked on for hundreds of years until it was over 3700 miles long
ReplyDeleteI saw a time line of the different Chinese Dynasties and who ruled them and during what period. The Age of Division/disunity was between the Han and Tang Dynasties. This happened because many emperors ran many different parts of China, some did not get along with each other and wars were very common.

ReplyDeletei played a game to build the great wall and the wall was actually bulit in the Ming dynasty. whoa!
ReplyDeleteI looked at the geography section and learned that chinese didn't know that other people lived in the world for awhile because the geography provided many borders. there were mountains, bodies of water and deserts. some places people can't and couldn't live in because of the geographical features. such as mountains because water will slide down and flood them and they need flat land. also people don't want to live in deserts because it is hot and there is dry, sandy, rocky land for miles, enemies don't want to travel across deserts either!

What i learned is that when you use chopsticks they are really particular with how you use them. Like when you use chopsticks you cant drop them or it brings bad luck also if u end up getting an uneven pair you will miss a boat, plane, or train. i thought this was veryy interesting because we wouldnt even think about that, Its cool learning about hoe people did things so long ago and hoew we think its weird but they would probobally think everything we do is wrong, silly or wierd too.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that if you drop chopsticks bad luck will occur and if you find a pair of chopsticks that are uneven at your table you will miss a plane, train or boat.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that I found interesting is that on the 7th day of the Chinese New Year is called Yan-Yat. That is everybody's birthday.

I learned that there are many different types of dragons, and that they each have their very own special powers. Also,a dragon's color represents their power and what they protect.
ReplyDeleteThe Chinese believed that after death, they received powers that could benefit or punish living people. I wonder if their class or the way they lived reflected their power, like how hindus and buddhist believed in karma and that if they were grateful, they would be reincarnated into a higher caste.Or if they were ungrateful they would get a lesser life.
ReplyDeleteon the website i learneed about the silk road it was a 4000 mile trip and the road was not paved. it lead to rome. it was very dangerous to trade on the silk road because it was very hot and people stole your goods that were going to be traded.

ReplyDeletei really like the website. I learned that the first fans were made of feathers.
ReplyDeleteI found that the chinese worshipped their ancestors. Which means I'd be worshipping bootleggers from boonsboro
ReplyDeleteTo communicate with their ancestors the Chinese used Oracle bones. When the king or emporer would ask a question, the priest would write it on the bone and heat a pin and put it on the bone and which ever way the bone cracked would be the answer. Archeologists have found over 100,000 old Oracle bones in China. The Shang emporers had sacrificed a great number of people to talk to their ancestors in ancient China.
